I bought the charger to maintain my E46 M3’s battery while the car was down for a month and a half. The charger itself was small enough that it didn’t require additional space in my tight garage. It seems to be well built and I was confident enough to leave it on unattended. There was a slight cause of concern from the odor it emitted when I initially plugged it in. But it quickly went away after a couple of minutes. I monitored it for a few hours just to make sure it doesn’t overheat. It actually ran cool to touch. I actually have it on now as I won’t be using the car for another month or so. So far so good.
